Resorts: offshore urban planning
The Spanish State Land Law 6/98, the regional laws, and particularly the Region of Murcia Land Law 1/2001, with the extraordinary investment of money which was injected in the Spanish banking system have contributed all together to the housing bubble burst, and especially to the resorts.
They defend that if there was more land for development, the housing cost would be lower, so it began the real state chaos. In Region of Murcia, there was the collaboration of the regional and local administration, within an urban planning whose lack of regulation brought about any urban reclassification.
The resort sector had an extraordinary incidence in the region, because of many conditions as tourist-coastal, climatic, land virginity, urban chances, and the so-called financial aspects and corruption. The sector had nearly unlimited credit for their promotion and buying and selling operations until they reach to ignore any study about the impossibility to sell thousands of houses projected.
In this way, resorts have appeared all the regional territory long, mostly with the same result: failure or bankruptcy protection of the housing promotions and companies.
