Comprehensive Local Development Plan
Sustainable Development Reserve of the Despraiado (Brazil)
This article addresses the Comprehensive Local Development Plan (PIDL) developed for the Sustainable Development Reserve of the Despraiado (RDSD), located in the Mosaic of Juréia-Itatins Protection Areas, in the State of São Paulo, Brazil. It was built collaboratively and in direct contact with the Local Residents Association and the Forest Foundation, responsible for the management of the Reserve, the Plan seeks to promote the bases for the sustainable development of the community, promoting solutions for access to housing dignity, sanitation and energy, seeking to ensure the permanence of the traditional resident community and the conservation of the natural and cultural landscape, which has a vast biodiversity of the remaining area of ??the Brazilian Atlantic Forest biome. The proposal was developed based on previous diagnoses and research, which were updated by the PIDL technical team, orienting towards comprehensive solutions that respond to the demands of the local population, living in precarious conditions, with an HDI lower than the region where it is located. The article attempts to make the content of the Plan explicit without trying to exhaust the solutions, but to open up for reflection on the possible actions in the Reserves both nationally and internationally.
