Fortress and river beach of Goián
We were hired in order to restore the area of Goián river beach, with high activity but partially occupied by a road with streetlights, and to reactivate the immediate environment of the fortress of San Lourenzo, recently restored but with no use, reordering a number of facilities that make sense of a future park in the only area permitted by law: an intermediate slope with strong inclination, facing south and totally disfigured by the presence of various quarries and illegal refreshment stalls. Faced with a regulatory challenge zoning , that forbid the use of stone materials and trees that hiding or mimicking the vision of the monument, or the use of extremely expensive natural geological refunds, which includes a reduced budget and execution time, and the collaboration of a company specializing only in road construction. The proposals uses the existing topography, to accommodate in form of socket, the different container spaces, while solving the accessibility of an entire impracticable slope using only a wall of continuous contention, that without a known urban scale, is sometimes bank, other dungarees, stands, step, curb or platform. The extension of the defensive trench geometry to the beach, a new connection between both, organizes the group and solves a new access from the nearest town. Existing quarries provide spaces for future facilities, without altering the topography. The largest quarry, under a forest of pillars, converts into a great place that serves shadow to all kinds of public around a cafeteria. The river, and the village of Vilanova de Cerveira in front, provide the rest.
