Redevelopment of the port edge of Porto do Son (A Coruña)
Motivated by different conflicts of use between traffic, massive parking and the growing commercial and leisure activity, the transformation of this emblematic place of 25,843 m2 is proposed, integrating different expectations of the urban and port front.
The access and the separation of the road from the façade allow for a large public space, green and paved, which recovers the relationship between the historic centre and the port.
Old and new places give value to a process of exchange that goes beyond the strict functional resolution. O Cruceiro, recovered as an entrance space and a tree-lined viewpoint. The retaining wall used as a prefabricated walkway. The urbanisation, a guideline for interpreting uses and opening up the meaning of the space. Rough concrete, stone and earth, textures that extend the streets of the nucleus to the sea. Steps, steps, balconies. Near the market, a wooden structure brings back the memory of the drying sheds. Support for cinema, exhibitions, street markets... and other activities to come. Also two surfaces for the Festival: one free, stone, the other wooded, earth. Continuity of the promenade, with service to the pontoons. Car park. At the end, a building for the new Yacht Club. Its shape takes advantage of the breakwater as a wall and a finishing touch, creating a viewpoint towards Monte Louro.

Planur-e: www.planur-e.es es una revista digital editada en España en materias de territorio, urbanismo, sostenibilidad, paisaje y diseño urbano. Nació con el objetivo de exponer buenas prácticas dando voz a los profesionales, planteando que sean los propios autores de los trabajos quienes los presenten. Se colabora así a su difusión, al tiempo que se ofrece, a aquellos que se aproximan al proyecto, la oportunidad de ver otras formas de trabajar y contrastar sus propias reflexiones y propuestas. Planur-e por sus características pretende llenar un hueco, dada la escasez de publicaciones en estas materias. Alcanza en este momento su número diez, con un planteamiento monográfico y da, al tiempo, en su Miscelánea cabida a múltiples temas. Cuenta ya con un número importante artículos alrededor de 150, hasta el momento, y con autores de muy distintos países, lo que enriquece su tarea de divulgación.
